DESCRIPTION:CANCELLEDUnfortunately we have had to cancel this event due to Covid lockdo
 wn restrictions.\n\nMembers,\n2021 marks another milestone in SASI’s histor
 y, that being the celebration of SASI’s 60th Anniversary. From the humble b
 eginnings of our two founders Keith Selby and Frank Napier wishing to form 
 SASI’s inaugural club, the James Cook Astronomers Club in 1961, we have an 
 astronomical society that is rated as one of Australia’s top Astronomical S
 ocieties. SASI boosts a state of the art amateur observatory and gathering 
 place where observations, cameraderie, meetings and education take place fo
 r both members and members of the public.\nAs it is anticipated that a larg
 e number of members and their parties will celebrate this SASI 60th Anniver
 sary milestone the celebration will take place at the Garden Terrace locate
 d within the Taren Point Bowling Club.\nThe details for SASI’s 60th Anniver
 sary celebration are as follows: \n• Date: Saturday 18 September, 2021. \n•
  Time: 7pm to 10pm. \n• Cost: $25 pp. \n• Dinner: Roast carvery with vegeta
 bles, salads and alternating dessert. \n– A vegetarian Lasagna main option 
 will also be available as well as Gluten Free substitutes. \n– Guests may p
 urchase their own beverages at the bar. \n– Water will be available free of
  charge. \n– Seating will be at a first come basis. \n• Speakers/Presentati
 ons: SASI’s patron Fred Watson, State Parliamentarian Eleni Petinos and SAS
