DESCRIPTION:<p>The Macquarie University Association for Astronomy (AfA) and the Departm
 ent of Physics &amp; Astronomy are proud to present the annual Macquarie Un
 iversity Astronomy Open Night.</p><p>Established in 1988 by Dr Alan Vaughan
 , the AfA aims to encourage teaching and research while also promoting astr
 onomy to the public, providing a platform for various parts of the astronom
 ical community to interact and discuss astronomy and astrophysics.</p><p>A 
 much loved annual event for over 25 years, join us in 2023 for another incr
 edible evening of astronomy, astrophysics, photonics, astrophotonics and al
 l things physics, including a large outdoor area full of telescopes, where 
 you can observe celestial objects for yourself.</p><p>There will be up to 3
 0 telescopes aimed at the glittering night sky (weather permitting), operat
 ed by both Macquarie University astronomers and amateur astronomers alike.<
 /p><p>Don't miss your chance to meet and chat with real-life astronomers, o
 bserve stars, planets, nebulae, star clusters and much more, and discover t
 he night sky like you never have before!</p><p>Also enjoy Robotics Demonstr
 ations, explore the surface of Mars, or try your hand at our Laser Maze.</p
 ><p>A limited amount of tickets will available on the door but to avoid dis
 appointment we strongly recommend registering and pre-purchasing tickets vi

 <p>Note this is not a SASI event, but we will be represented with an inform
