DESCRIPTION:The Macquarie University Association for Astronomy (AfA) and the Department
  of Physics &amp; Astronomy are proud to present the annual Macquarie Unive
 rsity Astronomy Open Night.\nEstablished in 1988 by Dr Alan Vaughan, the Af
 A aims to encourage teaching and research while also promoting astronomy to
  the public, providing a platform for various parts of the astronomical com
 munity to interact and discuss astronomy and astrophysics.\nA much loved an
 nual event for over 25 years, join us in 2023 for another incredible evenin
 g of astronomy, astrophysics, photonics, astrophotonics and all things phys
 ics, including a large outdoor area full of telescopes, where you can obser
 ve celestial objects for yourself.\nThere will be up to 30 telescopes aimed
  at the glittering night sky (weather permitting), operated by both Macquar
 ie University astronomers and amateur astronomers alike.\nDon't miss your c
 hance to meet and chat with real-life astronomers, observe stars, planets, 
 nebulae, star clusters and much more, and discover the night sky like you n
 ever have before!\nAlso enjoy Robotics Demonstrations, explore the surface 
 of Mars, or try your hand at our Laser Maze.\nA limited amount of tickets w
 ill available on the door but to avoid disappointment we strongly recommend
