Introduction to Practical Astronomy Course

Introductory course held annually at Green Point Observatory,
Runs over 8 Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 9:30pm.
For all members of the public from Year 10 (High School) to retirement interested in astronomy.
Activity-based practicals. Immersive Astronomy experience.
Supported by modern educational technologies (website, videos, glossary, animations, quizzes, star charts & apps, on-line content).
Face to Face presentations, small group coaching on equipment. Certificate on completion. No telescopes required.

Wed 16 September Observing the Solar System

Wed 14 October Observing Deep Sky Objects
Wed 21 October Intro to Big Bang Theory
Wed 28 October New Developments in Astronomy & Space, Introduction to Astrophotography
Recommended: Additional Saturday evenings observing during the course at our dark-sky location with our mentor volunteers & hands on use of their equipment.
